TK Group of Companies was
established in 1982 with the acquisition of our first retail
trading outlet, a domestic hardware store in Selebi-Phikwe,
Botswana. Over the next few years we ventured into building
materials and opened various trading outlets creating Botswana's
leading domestic hardware chain. As our operations expanded we
decided to enter wholesale and distribution and became one of
Botswana's largest importers. We then began to assemble and
distribute Bicycles and bicycle spares throughout Southern Africa
and invested in a bicycle frame manufacturing plant in India. We
introduced our own brands of bicycles, as well as launched our own
line of tools, stoves and fans. Further diversification occurred
through property development and investment in both commercial and
residential properties throughout Botswana, along with the
acquisition of a few filling stations over the years. Our latest
venture is in garment manufacturing with our specialty being
bottoms; a factory for T-shirt manufacturing is in the pipeline.
The group currently employs over 500 people and wishes to expand globally.
We have therefore established a marketing office & warehouse in
the USA, and are in the process of establishing a sourcing office in
the UK.
